Portrait commission
Portrait commission
These portraits are made with oil paints on Japanese Okawara paper. This paper has a velvety structure and light cotton color, which is visible through the paint.
My style is what you see in the examples, fairly loose and sketchy. You can select to have a loose background, like my self portrait, or just the paper, like the portrait of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. You can also submit full or partial figure, and we can find a suitable composition from that.
After booking, I will contact you by e-mail, and we can start the process.
Timeframe 2-6 weeks depending on my schedule, and allowing time for the oil paint to dry enough to be shipped. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
Choosing a photo
Choosing a photo
Please make sure to send the best picture you have, as I can only paint what I see. Good lighting and sharp nice resolution is also recommended. You can also send me several options when I reach out to you, and help you select a suitable reference photo.
Feedback and iterations
Feedback and iterations
Once you choose a photo, I will suggest a crop and layout of the painting. If you agree, I will go ahead with painting, and when I am done, you will have a chance to see it and ask for minor adjustments before I leave it to dry.
